This project has the longest name on record. The University of Texas at Austin Dell Computer Science Hall/Bill and Melinda Gates Computer Science Complex (whew!) The acronym would be UTatADCSHB&MGCSC.

The team led by Robert Lambert and Richard Grandt along with Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects have worked hard to take this project to completion with lots of late night and some hair pulling. In the end, it’s going to be a great project. Check out the site work already being done.

The site for the new facility is located on the main UT campus adjacent to the ACES building (a previous STG Design project) and Taylor Hall. This project includes the demolition of a current building and new construction of a 132,000 state-of-the-art facility for the top 10 nationally ranked Computer Science Department at the University of Texas in Austin. Phase 1 consists of a five-story north tower including computer labs, faculty offices, graduate student rooms, classrooms, faculty lounges and auditoriums. The auditoriums and classrooms have large audio visual components wherein STG Design is working directly with an Audio Visual consultant. Phase 2 of this project will include the design and construction of a connecting atrium and another five-story south tower totalling 90,000 square feet.
