Project Spotlight – Pediatric Center of Round Rock

March 29, 2011

Here is a nice project that Jennifer Mejia and the Austin interiors completed recently. The Pediatric Center of Round Rock is a 4,000 s.f. medical office in Round Rock, Texas. Going to the doctor’s office can be scary sometimes and this space is a warm and welcoming place for kids and their parents to feel at home. It also has fun elements such as touch screens in all the exam rooms where the kids can play games while they wait.

The Spanish Mediterranean design style was inspired by the exterior architecture of the building, and the doctor’s home country of Spain. Patterned tile flooring, stacked stone columns, heavily textured wall finishes carry the design theme throughout to provide a sophisticated yet playful space. STG Design was able to provide a pediatric office space plan that separates well and sick child waiting areas, exam rooms to eliminate contamination. There is a centrally located nurse lab for convenient testing and prescription dispensing for the nursing staff. Special design features include custom room dividing panels at pre-exam areas and soaring ceiling volumes to maintain a light and airy feel throughout the space.
