A New Face in Nashville

July 1, 2011

A big STG Design welcome to Jay Purkey who has joined the Nashville office as Architect and will also be focusing on busines development in the region.

Jay comes to STG with 18 years in the architectural industry. His experience ranges from multi-family, medical office, general office, restaurant to custom residential design. Jay spent six years at H. Michael Hindman Architects as Director of Design where he designed and helped manage several million square feet of projects in all phases from planning through construction. He also brings to the firm very strong master planning and mixed-use experience.

Here’s something interesting about Jay: “For the past three years I have coached a travel basketball team consisting of boys age 11-13 all from around the Bellevue area of Nashville which is the west side of Nashville.  We are called the Westside Warriors. What started out as a bit frustrating losing 19 of our first 20 games has turned into a passion and since that inauspicious start, we have won two tournaments and came in runner-up in another and won the consolation championship in two others.  To this day we still have 8 of the 10 original players on the team.  Some have moved on to school teams and some attrition due to age.  These players still come back to watch games and take part in team activities.”

We’re looking forward to having Jay on our team and the growth of the Nashville office!
