Growing Relationships with Existing Clients

July 13, 2011

We talk at STG Design about creating ” Raving Fan” clients. A “Raving Fan” client refer us to other clients, bring us back on other projects, talks us up around town. It’s known that existing clients are easier and to market to, the low hanging fruit so to speak. But what does it mean in this competitive economy, where lower fees seem to be the norm for hiring AEC firms?

As Anne Scarlett notes in her AEC blog, “If we do a good job for our clients, then they will come to us with more work, right? Right, but with exceptions. Providing quality results and excellent service is the bare minimum that needs to be done in order to build business with existing clients. They expect nothing less. It’s the extra effort you give to each client that will ensure future work.”

Her article provides some thoughtful “extras” that can help us in creating those “Raving Fans”.
