Clients do the Strangest Things

August 5, 2011

Sounds like a weird but true article but should make you smile.

From Architectural Record, “Unusual lawsuit alert: Synthesis+, a California architecture firm, is suing the New Mexico town of Sunland Park for $1 million after the firm reportedly didn’t receive payment for work it performed under nine contracts, according to an Associated Press story.

The town mayor, Martin Resendiz, claims he was drunk when he signed the contracts. “I had way too much to drink. It was after 5 p.m. and I signed it [the contracts] and I didn’t know what I was signing,” Resendiz wrote in response to questions from lawyers for Synthesis.” For the full article read here. http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/sunland-park-nm-mayor-says-he-was-drunk-when-he-signed-questionable-deal-with-calif-company/2011/08/04/gIQAFwhGuI_story.html
