STG Design – Nashville wins National Award!

April 11, 2012

Shout out to our Nashville team! STG Design has been recognized with a national Excellence Award from the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) for our work on the expansion of Fiberweb’s Horizon Building on the Old Hickory Campus.

This design-build project was programmed as a research and development facility for non-woven fiber products. The interior has a free span of seventy feet and clear height of over forty-five feet, with a four-story mezzanine section housing the vertical fiber spindle equipment and a bridge crane. The façade is designed to showcase the non-woven fiber development process and to provide a new, more open image to their manufacturing complex.

Fiberweb and Scott Webb of Crain Construction worked in collaboration with STG Design and Logan Patri Engineering from the initial design phases all the way through the building’s completion and occupancy.

STG Design’s Race for the Cure Team

November 18, 2011

As you all know, the Komen Austin Race for the Cure was this past weekend and Team STG was 14 members strong! Thanks to all who participated and donated – together we have raised $980, which is 78% of our team goal ($1,250). Good job everyone!

The race is over, but you can still donate until the end of the month. If you would like to help us reach our goal and help those in need (75% of funds raised in Austin stay in Austin), visit our team’s site. Just click on the pink “Donate to this Team!” button on the right hand side and follow the instructions.

Thanks again to all who have joined in to help this cause! Feel free to ask Ashley for help if you have questions.

Go team!

Collaboration on New St. Edward’s Project

November 2, 2011

STG Design is once again collaborating with Moore Ruble Yudell Architects on the design of the John Brooks Williams Natural Sciences Facility at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas.  The opening of the Phase One facility in 2007 has already resulted in a significant increase in the number of students majoring in the sciences at St. Edward’s University.

This new 54,000 square foot facility will include classrooms, faculty offices, laboratories and support spaces for computer science, math and physics that will provide undergraduates with a hands-on, laboratory-rich, collaborative environment. The phase two project will also include a 125-seat auditorium that will provide a large lecture and performing arts venue for the campus.

The project is featured in the recent Austin Business Journal.
